Retreat off the grid at 7132 Thermal Baths

One of my most favourite ways to go off the grid is recharging in thermal baths high in the mountains. The combination of nature and healing waters is a magical experience during any time of the year. A nourishing way to unwind, rejuvenate and connect with your mind, body and spirit.

7132 Thermal Baths formerly known as Therme Vals is located in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. The spa facility is designed by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor and is made from 60,000 slabs of Vals quartzite.

The building is a stunning design and the spa itself with its open aqua blue mineral pools and smaller enclaves that enclose intimate mineral baths with different temperatures. The steam rooms with their big slabs of quartzite have varying intensities of heat and steam.

Take a sensory journey through hot and cold water, steam, and rock. Explore the different architectural angles and take a nap in one of the quiet rest rooms with glass portholes looking out at the surrounding nature. The whole experience is calming as it is invigorating.

To fully immerse yourself into present time and space it is an experience that deserves time away from technology, off the grid. Distraction only dilutes this powerful opportunity to feel more grounded within yourself. If you can, let go of the need to do and embrace a more receptive energy. You will be surprised what insights and inspiration you glean during this time.

This is an ideal location for the private retreats that I offer. In-between sessions there is adequate time for the baths. The work we do together integrates in a setting that is supportive and gentle on all your senses.

Staying in the adjourning 7132 Hotel gives you a pass to the spa before it opens to the public in the mornings. On Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday the spa is open between 23:00 and 01:00.

Enveloping yourself in the warm water of the outside pool whilst looking up at the night sky is breathtaking. For a moment everything falls away and you’re floating in the expansiveness where time doesn’t exist. Your busy mind on pause allowing the calm to flow through you.
